Xtina and others helped Sony BMG to increase sales!

According to Sony Music, there has been a sales increase of 1.3% in the first quarter of the year. So far this year has been registering an increase of 3.8%. Releases from Usher, Christina Aguilera and the Glee Cast have largely contributed to the increase.

Sony’s statement says: “The increase reflects the strong sales of a number of key releases which more than offset the continued contraction of the physical music market. Best-selling titles during the current quarter included AC/DC’s soundtrack to Iron Man 2, music from the hit U.S. television show Glee, Kana Nishino’s 'To LOVE', Usher’s 'Raymond v Raymond' and Christina Aguilera’s 'Bionic'”.

Christina’s ‘Bionic’ has sold approximately 500,000 copies worldwide, more than two months after its release. It is estimated that the project could reach over one million copies at the end of the year with the holiday season and the release of her film ‘Burlesque’.

Yay! Nobody thought that this album will see the light of success! Go Aguilera!

Taylor Swift unveiled 'Mine' cover!

Country pop singer Taylor Swift is ready to walk to the charts again with her lead single 'Mine', but before we could hear the song, she gives us this single cover. Uhm, cute, she looks 17.

The song won't be sent to radio until early August, but station KILT have already had the first listen, and posted a review of the track up on their website.

“Mine” is an uptempo song that’s unmistakably Taylor. It’s a boy/girl song, sort of like “Love Story,” but a much more realistic look at a relationship. It shows Taylor’s growth and maturity over the 2 years since she released Fearless, but still maintains Taylor’s ability to tell a story with an instantly memorable hook. In the song, Taylor is a girl who always avoided love and then finds herself in a great relationship.

Here’s a line from the chorus: “You made a rebel of a careless man’s careful daughter / You are the best thing that’s ever been mine” “Mine” has a big chorus, and is very singable – like all great Taylor Swift songs.

Well, I'm no fan of Taylor, but she seems to be a really really sweet girl that's why people love her. Her upcoming album 'Speak Now' is out on October 25th, Billboard made a prediction that this album is expected to sell 750,000-1,000,000+ on it's first week...WOAH.

J.Lo set to replace Ellen DeGeneres on 'American Idol'!

After Ellen herself announced that she'll be leaving the very popular U.S. TV show 'American Idol'. One name stood out that will replace DeGenerous...JENNIFER LOPEZ!

Though not officially confirmed yet, People, Deadline and Gossip Cop are all claiming to have the ‘exclusive’ on J.Lo is the new Idol judge. According to their reports, Jenny’s manager Benny Medina has been orchestrating the deal for over a month, and was waiting for Ellen to announce her departure before revealing the news.

I don't know what to feel, this just made me not to watch the show. Yes, I like Jenny but, after Cowell left, I find the next season boring. And I believe 'X-Factor' is going to be more fun! A.I. needs to prove me wrong.

That Katy Perry reign just won't let up!

While 'California Gurls' is still kickin' your faves butts, her 2nd single 'Teenage Dream' (which I forgot to rate, 3.5/5) is breaking radio records, it has been added to 87 radio stations over the course of a week – the highest number of adds for a song ever. It has since been added to 101 stations, and just debuted at #38 on the Mediabase top forty airplay chart. It has already shifted 84,000 copies in it’s first week, and is currently still at #3 on the iTunes chart.

WOAH, It's really shocking how she became really popular. I hope she keeps the momentum and bag her first #1 album in the U.S.

THE DRUMS ARE PHENOMENAL, I kinda don't like the autotune in the song, THE CHORUS IS BLAZING HOT AND CATCHY! Another song to my playlist for sure.

KPOP ALERT: 4minute’s Jiyoon & Gayoon rock 2 Different Tears on 1000 Song Challenge

4minute’s Jiyoon and Gayoon recently made an apperance on SBS 1000 Song Challenge where the ladies covered Wonder Girls‘ latest hit '2 Different Tears'.

They put on quite an impressive performance by also dancing to some of the choreography, and of course the laid back style of the show allowing for everyone to laugh and have a good time.

Even though it was a shorter performance only lasting a minute and 30 seconds, it was definitely a special treat for fans. Check it out!

Good Destiny's Child alternative RichGirl just released their REAL debut single 'Swagga Right' for their upcoming debut album...FINALLY!

I actually like the song! But there are many better songs from their catalog. I love their voices, the sexy beats, the harmonization and Britney-esque breathy ha-ha-ha, I'm really particular when it comes to sounds. The only minus point in the song is that they didn't showed their glass-breaking voices. But overall, it's a good laid-back-good-ole-rnb sounding song. Good job!

The new 4 unheard tracks are so 'Chasing Lights-ish' which is a very good thing for me. 'Higher' sounds like a summer anthem, the Kristinia DeBarge cover 'Died In Your Eyes' sounds like a tear-jerker song, while 'Karma' and 'Puppet' sounds SMASH and destined to give them their 1st U.K. #1!

Christina Aguilera shuts me down with 'You Lost Me' video!

I know that this post should've been posted yesterday but I decided not to since it was only an 'LQ Leaked Version'. But now, after weeks of waiting, 'You Lost Me' video finally made it's way to come to my screen. I can describe it in one word...

SUPERB!!!

It started out with a smoking gold gun and Christina was wearing a black dress, super simple, a mattress (BTW, she looked like she's in her 'Genie In A Bottle' era!) and then I like the 'Bionic part' where she was seen in negative view. And then she laid in a charcoal, until a man tries to pull her up and the background turns into fire and then she was wearing a white dress until the ending. The last seconds was legendary (for me) coz' she was SUPER SUPER SUPER Super pretty!

Is there a feud between RCA and Christina Aguilera?

New York Post claims that Christina Aguilera's label RCA Records are concerned over her inability to connect with the general public.

The Post have also claimed that Aguilera has “misjudged the market” and that she’s no longer the “edgy” popstar that she was in the early days when her main competition was the likes of Britney, Mandy and Jessica.

Nicole Scherzinger replaces Cheryl Cole on X-Factor!

IT'S OFFICIAL! Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger replaces U.K. Pop Princess Cheryl Cole as the judge on the upcoming X-Factor in the U.S.

As it has now been CONFIRMED that Cheryl will NOT be returning to Boot camp, Cowell is said to have been impressed with Nicole and has given her a longer stint. At present Cheryl is continuing to recover from malaria at her home in Surrey. Ms Scherzinger was originally brought in to replace Dannii Minogue at the Manchester auditions as she went on maternity leave.

Well, I love them both so more power!

BACKTRAXX: Let It Slide - Joanna Pacitti

'Let It Slide' was Joanna Pacitti's first (and last?) Single from her 2006 first (and last?) album 'This Crazy Life'. I know that 90％ of people who visit my blog don't know her. So here's a short biography:

She was supposed to be playing the lead role as Annie in 'Annie: The Musical' but because of bronchitis, she was fired. She was also a contestant on 'American Idol season 9' but because of legal issues and rules (she relesed this album before she joined the show, and she claims that she is a friend of AI's producer) she was disqualified and right now, she's out of sight.

The song is super hot! Her soaring voice soared in the midst of the pop/rock sound!

Lee Ryan's 'Confessions' is officially having a release date after fans' petition!

Geffen has apparently reversed its decision not to release Lee Ryan's new solo album, after a petition set up by fans reportedly received 174 signatures.

As previously reported, Ryan told fans earlier this week that the album had been shelved after the first single from it, 'I Am Who I Am/Secret Love', only reached number 33 in the singles chart. The singer then told fans he would give it away as a free download instead.

It seems that it won't now come to that, though. Ryan tweeted on Tuesday: "I think your petition has worked! The record label have said they will release it now! So happy! Thank you everyone for helping me!"

So I can finally say this:

Popular stage walker Rihanna and Timbaland and Kings of Leon to judge an upcoming International Songwriters Competition.
Here are the details:

The International Songwriting Competition concludes with 66 winners and one Grand Prize winner, who share more than $150,000 in cash and prizes, with the Grand Prize scoring $25,000 in cash and $20,000 in prizes. Three of the past five Grand Prize winners have signed to major labels with Universal and Epic, while other winners have acquired smaller label and publishing deals.

It's actually not a shocker since RiRi has songwriting credits from her previous albums.

Despite heavy promotions, Kelis' new album 'Flesh Tone' expected to sell a staggering 7,000 copies in the U.S. and with that numbers, she's expected to debut at #46 in the U.S. Billboard 200.

Due to underwhelming performance of his singles, no 2nd album for Lee Ryan. (as of the moment)

The Blue singer is planning to release his latest solo record 'Confessions' in October, but now admits that his label - Geffen - might scrap the album because of poor sales for his latest single.

The double A-side release, 'I Am Who I Am / Secret Love', only reached number 33 in the U.K. charts at the weekend.

In a rant against Geffen Records, Lee has blamed the company for not stocking enough copies of the CD in shops.

Ryan wrote on Twitter: "Really upset, 33 aint terrible but I thought it would of done better! The album is so good it's a shame it won't be out now! Only released 2000 copies! Most of the fans said they couldn't get it, not everyone downloads?"

Lee continued: "They just won't release (the album) now. I'm just gonna put it on the internet and the let the fans get it for free! F**k em!!!"

"I promise I will give it away! I want you to hear it! I don ’t care about the money its the body of work I want u to hear! You can have it! X"

Blue meanwhile are working on their next album and will be touring in 2011.

It's really sad. Anyways, I'm excited to hear anything from him.

Cheryl Cole and Ne-Yo collaboration for her sophomore album!

While my favorite U.K. female artist Cheryl Cole is still in the hospital from malaria, Ne-Yo (you know him right?) confirmed that he's jumping into Cheryl bandwagon by writing and producing some of the tracks to her upcoming 2nd U.K. and 1st U.S. album. Here's what he said:

“We’ve been talking about doing some stuff together. Although nothing has happened so far, Cheryl is definitely on the list ”. He also adds: “She’s gorgeous. She can sing. She can dance. I don ’t see why she wouldn’t do well [in the U.S.]. All she needs is already there – she just needs the right song. All she needs is a good record”.

Cheryl is pretty, she's a gorgeous dancer...but singing? Not too much. I just know that she'll be big in the states and other places! If Rihanna can, why can't she?

KPOP ALERT: Brown Eyed Girls ready to release their first Japanese album!

Following many other idol group’s footsteps, it has been confirmed that Brown Eyed Girls will be recording a special Japanese album for their debut showcase in Japan.

On the 13th, an official stated the following, “Brown Eyed Girls will debut in Japan around August. The Japanese album is pretty much finished, and only requires some finishing touches.”

The album will include many of their past hits, however 'Abracadabra' in particular will be recorded in Japanese due to its massive success back in 2009.

For all of you guys out there who doesn't know these girls, here's the uber-hot song 'Abracadabra'.

UH-OH! Jennifer Lopez faces $40mil lawsuit!

The songstress is now facing a $40 million lawsuit for scrapping a controversial show in Cyprus. She was scheduled to perform at the opening of new hotel complex Cratos Premium in the Turkish Cypriot. This was part of the popular tourist destination on July 24th, the same day as the 36th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of the European island. J.Lo’s choice to play the gig was heavily blasted by officials at the Cyprus Action Network of America.

The chief executive of the Turkish company which runs the hotel is now threatening to go to court to claim damages of up to $40 million. Boss Murat Bozoglu says: “The contract has not been terminated. If she does not show up for the concert, we will begin a procedure in the courts to claim 35-40 million dollars in damages. The
cancellation… is not covered by any clause in the contract she signed with us”.

Kylie Minogue's latest hotness 'Aphrodite' just went on top in the U.K. this week, giving her a place in the record books as the first artist in U.K. history to ever have a #1 record in four consecutive decades.

In other places, 'Aphrodite' debuted at no.2 in her country Australia, failing to defeat Eminem's 'Recovery' at the top spot and to debut inside the top 20 in Billboard 200 without any promo!

Grammy-winning country singer Carrie Underwood has married Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher at a resort in Georgia.

"Yes, Mike and Carrie are married," Underwood's publicist Jessie Schmidt said in an e-mail to The Associated Press early Sunday.

The wedding took place Saturday at the Reynolds Plantation resort in Greensboro, Ga.

Okay, so the song was alright, their dress was cute but I must admit, the performance was ugly! Super breathy and they haven't even opened their mouth on the last chorus...and I think it's the worst Music Core performance. The mic is cute though.

Oh geez, these girls needs to practice more! There's still next time but as of now......NEXT!

The 'quiet diva of the moment' Christina Aguilera just showed the sneak peak from the video of her upcoming single 'You Lost Me' from her critically-bashed album (except me, billboard, and the fans) 'Bionic'.

The video is like her 2002 monster hit 'Beautiful' but with more 'things' going on like burning house, destroyed mattresses, and of course, Christina Aguilera's beautiful hair or wig, and face.

While I'm/We're eagerly waiting for her 2017 album (kidding!), Lemme give you a treat taken from her gorgeous album 'Dignity' last 2007 with the song-that-should-have-been-released 'Gypsy Woman'.

The song was hot hot HOT! It's like a part 2 of her song 'Stranger' with arabian-ish sound but this song was way better!

Please Hilary, release an album immediately!

Ciara unveiled 'Basic Instinct' artwork!

CiCi just previewed her artwork for her latest album 'Basic Instinct' (out on August). The cover was....uhm, yeah, okay. Nothing groundbreaking, her 'Fantasy Ride' cover was 2,000,000 times hotter than this...it's decent, but I'm not feeling it, and honestly, the music either.
